My wife is a teacher in delhi govt school. she was directed by school authority to take additional responsibility of BLO supervisor in addition to school duty. being a woman, it is difficult for her to perform this additional duty as it affects her family life as well as health. There has been an order of DELHI HC on PIL fieled by Akhil dilli prarthmic shikshak sangh citing doing this additional duty is against public interest and violation of RTE as it would affect teaching quality too. It is submitted that if they were expected to carry on the verification work after the school hours it would affect their health and the quality of their teaching would suffer. This in turn would be detrimental to the interests of students. Many of the female teachers have to travel considerable distances which makes it both unsafe and inconvenient for them. can we approch a court of law and file a PIL on this basis and get an stay on this order of EC? please note the teachers are not being compensated for carrying out this extra work. that too is violation of human rights. shall appreciate your quick advise. also please suggest should i approach distt. court or HC.
