I have faced a situation in which the company which is going for merger of a PSU as per the Corporate Law and Industrial Legislation proposed to reduce the cadre by two scales below by equating the present pay being drawn in the sick unit just equating the basic salary calculated without any weightage to the service then equating it to the present scales existing the (Transferer company). Due to which for example presently I have attained the Scale 4 by post qualification experience/service the company proposed to switch me to Scale 2 in the merger process. Is it justifiable in the Same Industry and both companies are PSUs
