(1) This Act may be called the Sugar- cane Act, 1934 .

(2) 2[ It extends to the whole of India, except 3[ the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956 , were comprised in Part B States].]

(3) This section shall come into force at once; the remaining sections of this Act shall come into force in any State 4[ or part of a State] on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in that behalf.
